FERRARI DAYTONA SP3 IN BRICKS

Another set joins Block Verses: the Ferrari Daytona SP3. The Ferrari Daytona SP3 is a true work of art, produced in a limited edition of just 499 pieces, all of which have already been sold. The price is over 2 million euros. It comes with a 6.5-liter V12 engine that develops 830 hp and accelerates from 0 to 100 in 2.86 seconds, not far behind a Tesla Model S! It has an F1 gearbox and reaches a speed of 340 km/h.

This is certainly not the first LEGO set featuring a Ferrari: within the Technic series alone we have seen the Enzo, the 599 and the more recent 488 GTE, but also Michael Schumacher's F2005 Formula 1. Plus, of course, the F40 from the Creator collection and the smaller Racers and Speed Champions (F40, Enzo, F8 Tributo, LaFerrari and 512M).

FEATURES

Features include steering, an 8-speed sequential gearbox and a V12 engine with moving pistons. Just like the original supercar, this collectible Ferrari model features butterfly-shaped doors. Inside the box is your unique serial number to unlock special online content. The set is in 1:8 scale, measures 14 cm high, 59 cm long and 25 cm wide. The price is 479.99 euros.

Large Technic assemblies are usually built from the core out. In this case, the gearbox, followed by the rear suspension, are the first things built. If we look at the earlier cars in this series, Porsche's construction began with the gear selector and then moved on to the gearbox assembly. In the case of the Bugatti, the gearbox was built as a separate entity and placed on the rear suspension and chassis mount when completed. Lamborghini introduced another innovation with the use of new, large racks to enclose the gearbox.

The Ferrari Daytona Sp3 block assembly takes a slightly different approach, building the gearbox and gear selector mechanism first, with new spur gears (less wear and friction) instead of the old bevel gears of the same size. However, the gearbox is identical to the one used in the Lamborghini Sian.
